Lovely medium sized frame, flat glass.

This stone house designed by Frederick Thatcher was built in 1857, as the Headmaster's House for the Church of England Grammar School. Its first occupant, was the Rev. John Kinder, after whom the house is now named.
Kinder who was later warden of St. Johns College was a talented Topographical painter.
Many of his water-colours are in the Auckland City Art Gallery.
